Hello, 2012. And how are you today...

2012 is going to be an interesting year, to say the least. I look back on last year and my resolutions last year:

Not sure if I succeeded, but it was a nice try.

This year is already hard to predict. As I'm going into my last week of induction chemo, I really cannot plan further than the next 10 days.

Just so we are all on the same page, "induction chemotherapy" involves a full 30 days of chemo cycles culminating in a bone marrow biopsy. Should that bone marrow biopsy yield NO signs of cancer, then I can move onto the next stage of my treatment - which involves around two years of maintenance chemo and all that jazz.

I have 10 more days left of induction chemo. Jan 3rd is the day of my fourth and final round of chemo, then I have a week of sitting around, crossing my fingers, waiting for the cancer to go away. All my future plans hinge on the bone marrow biopsy results on Jan 10th.

So, that being said, here are my new years resolutions for the next 10 days:

#1: Go into remission on Jan 10th!

#2: Walk 30 minutes a day.

#3: Keep posting on my blog.

#4: Laugh, even if I don't want to

#5: Smile, even if my jaw hurts too much

#6: Give the doctors a hard time

#7: Go home after the 10th, cancer-free!

Wish me luck, world!
